Protect Your Active Kids from MRSA...EQUIP THEM WELL PROGRAM

MRSA is fast becoming more and more of a threat. This threat can be hiding in your home, your childrens school, church, and your local hospital. Many of us know people who we spend time with daily, only to find out they are carriers. And, as with all highly contagious diseases, we need to be educated and aware of how to protect ourselves, our families, and our children. In co-operation with the One to One Network, please check out the informative video at the bottom of this page. It will only take a couple minutes, and could save the life of someone you know from contracting this devastating and sometimes deadly disease.

"With fall sports in full swing, equipment cleanliness and item-sharing on and off the field may get overlooked between carpools, homework and bedtime. But, skin infections like MRSA, a potentially life threatening antibiotic resistant Staph infection, are the cause of 56 percent of all infectious disease outbreaks in competitive sports in the U.S.

It’s important that as parents and coaches we do our part to help prevent the spread of MRSA. You can begin by getting involved in the Equip them Well program through three simple steps – collect, disinfect, donate. "

Nat'l Fndtn for Cancer Research for Cure-Chocolate!

When I saw this article from The Cancer Foundation about CHOCOLATE,( the photo is one of my own...my favorite Lindt Chocolate bars!!!), I knew I had to share it with all of you. Just one more reason why we can assuredly indulge in our beloved dark chocolate! Sometimes life throws us a curve ball (or two!), and we have to re-prioritize. That's the case with my life. So please don't forget to keep checking in to my blog. If you go over to the left hand side of the page, half way down in the sidebar, you will see the FOLLOW ME- please DO FOLLOW ME! I would love to hear your comments! I am busy behind the scenes frantically working to give you the best of the best as I am In Search of THE Best! I have several reviews in the works, and am working on my first giveaway. So, while you are yourself doing some searching, and today, if it's CHOCOLATE, I know you will love this article! ( so sit back, grab that favorite dark chocolate bar, just a few bites though, and preferably organic if you can, and indulge... it's for your health... of mind and body!)

"Chocolate dates back at least 4,000 years ago.  Chocolate is derived from the seed of the cocoa tree.  In fact, cocoa (from which chocolate is created) was referred to it as god's food in ancient Mayan text.  Through the years, chocolate has become a sweet indulgence for many.  And in moderation, dark chocolate may help reduce your risk of cancer.

Chocolate, a product of cocoa, contains potent levels of antioxidants, which can help prevent diseases and neutralize cell-damaging free radicals. In fact, the darker the chocolate, the better it is for you. Dark chocolate possess higher levels of antioxidants, fewer calories and less fat than its’ milk and white chocolate cousins. Plus, contrary to popular belief, chocolate is not super charged with caffeine. In fact, a small chocolate bar contains about the same amount of caffeine as a standard cup of coffee.
In addition, chocolate lovers report an instant gratifying sensation when eating chocolate. Studies show that endorphins are believed to be “feel good” neurotransmitters, which appear to be affected by dietary fat. So, eating chocolate may increase endorphins and lift your mood. Despite such positive findings, NFCR stresses that over consumption of chocolate is still considered unhealthily. Moderation is the key to enjoying chocolate and to reap the best benefits of chocolate."

I'll Be Back!...( didn't Arnold Schwartzeneger say that?)

No, it isn't writers block. Just pure and simple life details. My own serious health problems(inoperable spinal tumor(which I AM GOING TO BEAT!)...my daughter and grandchildren in 3 accidents, thus, facilitating an out of state trip, and the list goes on.(like my 10 year old notebook computer really on its dieing last legs.) Speaking of which, if anyone knows any company or business person upgrading their laptops and they have a half way decent one they would be willing to donate, please put me on their wishlist!
Though I haven't written, the wheels have been turning, and I have had many people sending emails and phone calls asking what product reviews await. Hopefully it won't be long before I am up and running again! Until then please feel free to drop a line, advise, or request a review.

graciously,
cathy

In Search of The Best

What is the best? According to whom? To each of us, The Best, is a matter of each persons likes and dislikes, style, age, character, gender, culture, location(location, location, location!), personal preferences and convictions, political and religious beliefs, education, hobbies, goals, desires, and so much more. It will include physical makeup, health(body, mind, and soul), family,..and just about anything that makes us who we are...as individuals.
This little blog is just a small vehicle to exploring the vast world which has now opened to us, thanks to internet technology. It is my hope and prayer that it will bless all who read it. That it will fun, informative, encouraging, thought provoking, perhaps life changing, and at very least, entertaining.
