Recently some friends and I had the opportunity with Green MomsMeet to get a first hand taste of Kashi TLC's new Peanutty Dark Chocolate Bars. Almost all that sampled these bars loved the peanutty taste and layer of chocolate and the varied texture of these bars. Those few that could not try the bars due to peanut allergies, decided to donate their samples to be put into care packages for soldiers and servicemen and women..( and I am sure they are going to be very happy with these bars.) As with all sampling, I believe it is important that we share all peoples opinions from our group in honesty. All of those sampling the bars agreed the package is colorful and inviting, and gives a clear description of product contents. Several of the people trying these bars mentioned to me that they loved the taste of the bars, but some did find them much drier than most granola bars. Because of the dryness, they felt these bars should be eaten with a glass of milk or cup of tea for moisture. For small children that love bars for their snack, it would be no problem as they usually have their milk or juice with their snack. They also said because they loved the taste, they would purchase them in the future to give them another try. All agreed these bars would be a good travel, office, school, or on-the-go granola snack.

Kitchenaid comes to the rescue!...for one blessed reader!

After a long hiatus, due to fighting life-threatening illness, and still battling for my life, I am back to blogging more. To be honest, you that know me, know I try to keep up daily with Twitter...one of my fave places on the internet!..(you can follow me at @projecthope7 ) I love to use social media for WOM and Brand Buzz. It's fast, easy, and puts most of us on equal footing. Really love this modern way of communicating ...not only about personal and business subjects, but about home decor, technology, geek talk, food, product and service reviews, and yes, even giveaways.!

So, when I came across this great offer from KitchenAid this morning, I jumped. I knew I had to share it with my readers and friends. The refrigerator doesn't work, and 3xs daily I have to add 9 jugs of ice..which is a problem since the freezer only partially freezes also,...takes 6+ hours to freeze an icepack!...it's like having an old-fashioned icebox! I am going to include some photos to demonstrate...(gosh, I cannot believe I am divulging this publicly!!!) Now, on to the stove...2 burners work and the oven hasn't heated properly for over 2 yrs. Now after all is said and done, how can you not run to your phone or to their site and order one or two of these awesome special today?! Rachels Brain Surgery Date Changed

For those of you praying for Rachel and her family, due to increased symptoms, Rachels neurosurgical team have decided to operate at an earlier date. Her new brain surgery date is November 24th at 7:30 AM. Please continue to pray for her, her family, and all the medical staff involved. Pray for Gods constant abiding Love and Peace and Comfort and that the Lord would give Divine Wisdom and guide the surgeons hands. Thank you.

Keeping the cup half full....

Have you ever had one of those valleys, where day after day you make a list of 20 things that each MUST get done,... and EVERY day, 3 things get done, and 4 more things have to be put on that same list??? AND, to top it all off, you are bedridden for several weeks due to inflammation and pressure on your spinal cord, being caused by a ever growing inoperable tumor that has decided to eat its way through your spinal vertebrate?....well, hopefully not too many of my readers have to deal with anything like that. But this, dear readers, is why this blog has not been updated as often as it should be. My goal started as writing a minimum of 3 articles weekly until I could see to writing an article or review daily. That has been put on hold, but I am working behind the scenes on several reviews for August and September, and a special series called Palm Beach & Resort Living, so please subscribe so you can be updated. You won't want to miss my updates in the future weeks. They will include reviews and a few giveaways. As many of you know I am a supporter of the upcoming Five & Two film, The Secrets of Jonathan Sperry. I had the personal privilege of viewing one of the first uncut versions of the film , which is now being previewed across the nation, and can only tell you , it is a film worth waiting for. Please make every effort to get to the opening days of the film in September in theaters across the nation. As a field agent for the film, I would also like to invite you to please contact me if you know any individuals or churches interested in bringing this film to a theater near you. Without your help, this film will not be in a theater near you, as one of the visions of the film is to involve the Christian community in using this film as a media vehicle outreach tool. What an amazing opportunity Rich Christiano and Five & Two Films have brought us! We can have great family entertainment available to us and our families, and through this film, we can also have yet another means of encouraging people and bringing them real Hope.

Opening night for Yanni's Voices Tour was, just as he has continually said, "expect the unexpected!" This is a different Yanni...

The show started a bit late... about 8:15. As with all opening night performances, there were a few minor glitches.(minor to us, but I am sure frustrating to the performers...as Yanni later thanked all of us South Floridians for our opening night patience.) Nathan truly won most of our hearts that night. What a talented and gifted young man. His voice is incredible. He has a sweet and gentle spirit( yet POWERFUL voice!) that he brings with him to the Tour. Yanni on piano and Nathan's voice... well, let's just say we were truly mesmerized! Nathan himself is incredible. He had standing ovations throughout the night. Of course, we cannot forget the young girls heart throb, Ender Thomas... ladies were yelling out his name the moment he arrived on stage. I am sure that encouraged him. Ender had the audience standing, swaying, and dancing throughout the night to his music. He has a great voice...is a very gifted young man who has won his audiences. Both Ender and Nathan put their all in all into their music; it is so precisely clear and evident in its deliverance. Leslie and Chloe are both beautiful and talented performers. Chloe's voice is powerful and emotional. She has power in both her voice and her stage performance. Her voice is full and you can tell she puts her whole heart into it. I believe this is only the beginning for this young woman in her performance as a great musician. She has powerful stage presence. Leslie, is very different in her performance as much as her voice is different from Chloe. Leslie has more of a whisper in her voice, even though her voice is also very powerful. It is as if she is speaking to you beyond the words coming from her mouth. Leslie's voice somehow, tells a story... One we are just beginning to listen to... She is very in tune with Yanni, and you can tell she is very much woven into this new tapestry of music Yanni has given us.

Yanni and Ric Wake, his co-producer, have truly created a great work by joining these performers,...Nathan, Ender, Chloe, and Leslie. I was also impressed by the clear appreciation of these performers towards Yanni and the orchestra, this was evident through their actions and their own words. Yanni has done such an incredible job in bringing together musicians from so many parts of the world with amazing talents. They bond together and work in harmony, thus producing sounds that stir their audiences beyond expectations. The cellist, the violinists, the Paraguayan harpist, the drummers, guitarists, all make the tour what it is. I like what he said in one of his recent interviews... "the best of my life is now about to begin!"... It is evident with this new tour, that he not only is still a gifted musician , but is determined to help other musicians around the world to fulfill their dreams and aspirations for the future. Thank you Yanni, for bringing together this orchestra and these 4 young people for this tour.

As an editor, I have an obligation to my readers. I have waited a few days, as I wanted to have time to formulate how to express my review and opinion of the tour in the following manner as well. I believe that I need to share that I also feel that part of this tour program is not appropriate for those of conservative family values or with children. In the past, Yanni's tours have always been classical, instrumental, and appropriate for families, even though he has been classified many times as New Age World Music. that is the Yanni we have known. But this new tour brings with it, about half way through the show, a disturbing performance which opens with rings of fire in the background, and views on the staging of flowing sheets along with the fire. Right away, I am sure you get the picture of the scene they are trying to create in the mind. And then we have a time where I actually turned my head away, as did my guests, to avoid the erotic scenes and movements of Chloe and Leslie which totally surprised us and took us off guard. Chloe and Leslie were a bit more provocatively dressed than for other numbers, and then during their songs for this portion of the program, were climbing up on the piano and laying on top of it making extremely sensual movements. My guests told me this was not only surprising, but sad, and actually changed how they felt about this new tour. I have to say this was totally unnecessary. Without this addition of erotica to the tour program they would have received a total appreciation from even their conservative audiences across the country. I wanted to run up to Yanni and say "why? This was unnecessary. It was actually offensive to many of us, and showed lack of respect towards these precious young ladies, Chloe and Leslie. Yanni, you could cut that entire part of the tour out of the program and win all of our hearts!..Yanni, would you want your own daughter or granddaughter in the audience for that part of the program?"
So, enough said. My hope is that somehow, just somehow, Yanni's sponsors and PR people read this and take note... That they re-organize the program ( it isn't too late to do that Yanni!), so that it is appropriate for any age and culture to attend. That is the belief of many of us across the nation, and in particular, from some of your fellow "neighbors" here in South Florida! Yanni, we appreciate your work... please hear and listen to what we are sharing with you. And I would love to hear your response, which would let me know you heard.

As you know I have been on a journey searching for the best in MASCARA . Today I received a newsletter from a great site, Ladies Who Launch, that you should take a look at. The entire site is note worthy. The article, in particular, that I am referring to, is about Rachel Sarnoff from EcoStiletto, a Going Green site.
I like what the writer of this article states..."EcoStiletto doesn’t shill guilt, just information, showing you how to be a green goddess without sacrificing a smidge of style." So, the choice is up to us. There are a myriad of beauty products out there, each with their own little niche. Rachel speaks about why we might consider going green when searching for MASCARA. The search and the finding, depends on the individual preferences of the consumer. Our journey is not only to find the best products for our individual needs and desires, but it is a great learning process as well. Everything we do somehow affects everyone and everything around us. I , for one, am learning more and more about what that carbon footprint really means.

Sorry, precious readers, it's been along time since I have updated this blog. As with each of us, life happens, and sometimes our desires in writing and editing need to take a back seat. So , without further adieu, I am hoping to start working on this blog on a regular basis. Please be patient though as I am doing a lot of research, and am a real novice in the website hosting and upkeep areas. This blog, (as I am) is a work in progress. I have a great vision and high hopes though, so it will be great to have any comments along the way in the form of encouragement or advice, or even some techie help,( especially in how to insert links!) ( for which I can offer editing, or even some other life skill mentoring).

Today I want to talk about MASCARA.

Aren't we all, IN SEARCH OF THE BEST, when it comes to MASCARA. It has been a frustrating journey for most of us, hasn't it? So , this weeks search for the best MASCARA, may last for a few weeks!
Over the years we have all tried so many . My latest MASCARA journey has taken me to one of our favorite cosmetic shops, ULTA. (http://www.ulta.com/ulta/index.jsp). Over the last month, I have purchased no less than 3 different MASCARA's...ranging from $15.00 to $22.00. Not one of them has brought satisfaction. Two were almost non-existent, so dry they were almost unnoticeable, and one smudged and was clumpy, and had a very very strong odor upon applying, within only a few moments of application. (and of course, they all were labelled, smudge and clump resistant.) Those BRANDS were PUR, (http://www.purminerals.com/Eyes ), BARE ESSENTUALS (http://www.bareescentuals.com/) , and TWO FACED. (http://www.toofaced.com/).
The other brands I have tried to no avail, have been L'oreal, Rimmel, Maybelline, ORIGINS(http://www.origins.com/)..this last brand I actually loved due to the ingredients list, but I tried it two times and both times it was dry and clumpy...Lancome..( have to admit haven't tried Lancome for quite awhile)...and Chanel. Years ago Chanel had the most incredible dry cake MASCARA. They eventually stopped production due to a shortage on the ingredients I was told.( sad day....) . Someone recently told me that there are a few good, organic, natural MASCARA's out there that I should give a try. I am willing, so hopefully I will be able to report on those too. In the meantime, while IN SEARCH OF THE BEST in MASCARA land goes on, send me your comments! I would love to hear what you have to say! Kitchen Product Review- Palm Peeler

As many of you who are avid fans of the kitchen know, a good cook never travels without her "tools".(forgive me guys, I mean "their" tools.) But, this time was an exception. As some of you know, I had to travel out of state to visit with my family who had just been in 3 accidents. And there just was no room in th suitcase for my kitchen tools. So, I begrudgingly removed them from my bag before scurrying off to the airport.
The first week in a kitchen not my own, I was not exactly a happy camper. So, one day when my granddaughter was out shopping she bought 2 new peelers to see if they would make us happier in the kitchen. I missed my trusty OXO peeler that I have sworn by for years now. But, I have to tell you, I have found a new love... it is a palm peeler by CHEF'N! My granddaughter Sabrina bought one in Avocado color. From the first moment she brought it home, we have been wrestling for it, while busy at working preparing for a meal.
The peeler not only is one of the most comfortable I have ever used, but it is sharp and safe to use. The size and flexibility make it good for any size or gender hand. Though it seems for my hand, to be the most comfortable resting on my right middle finger, it is almost equally comfortable on the pointing finger as well. One of the other qualities that impressed me, was the slicing. It takes off the skin of whatever you're peeling, with only a minimal amount of skin, (stainless steel blade),thus leaving the flesh of the fruit or vegetable intact. This product definitely receives a thumbs up from my review! Thanks Chef'n product developer for a great kitchen tool!

No, it isn't writers block. Just pure and simple life details. My own serious health problems(inoperable spinal tumor(which I AM GOING TO BEAT!)...my daughter and grandchildren in 3 accidents, thus, facilitating an out of state trip, and the list goes on.(like my 10 year old notebook computer really on its dieing last legs.) Speaking of which, if anyone knows any company or business person upgrading their laptops and they have a half way decent one they would be willing to donate, please put me on their wishlist!
Though I haven't written, the wheels have been turning, and I have had many people sending emails and phone calls asking what product reviews await. Hopefully it won't be long before I am up and running again! Until then please feel free to drop a line, advise, or request a review.

What is the best? According to whom? To each of us, The Best, is a matter of each persons likes and dislikes, style, age, character, gender, culture, location(location, location, location!), personal preferences and convictions, political and religious beliefs, education, hobbies, goals, desires,and so much more. It will include physical makeup, health(body, mind, and soul), family,..and just about anything that makes us who we are...as individuals.
This little blog is just a small vehicle to exploring the vast world which has now opened to us, thanks to internet technology. It is my hope and prayer that it will bless all who read it. That it will fun, informative, encouraging, thought provoking, perhaps life changing, and at very least, entertaining.
